Auto refresh coming to Twitter homepages
Posted: November 5th, 2009 | Author: Chris Norton | Filed under: General Twitter | Tags: Twitter News | 2 Comments »Over on the Twitter status blog they have announced a limited test of notifications for new tweets. OK, granted so it doesn’t sound like the biggest story in the world but basically it means Twitter home pages may soon work similar to auto-refreshing the page.
The blog states:
So if one of the folks you follow has tweeted since you loaded your homepage, you’ll get a little notice saying “1 new tweet” that, when clicked, will display the new content.
We think it improves the tweet consumption experience and hope to roll it out to everyone as soon as we can.
We think this is a good idea and a welcome new inclusion although most people use Twitter clients anyway with auto refresh – so we don’t think it will be life changing but a nice small improvement.
